Sally Shields

My name is Sally Shields and I have worked with children for as long as I can remember!

I have been with Little Nightingales since it opened in 2007 and was made Manager in 2009. Since taking the post I have had lots of new experiences which in turn brings their own challenges. I am a qualified and experienced Nursery Nurse, currently at level 4. I have also gained variuos qualifications such as Paediatric First Aid, Advanced Food hygiene, Child protection & safe guarding children, behaviour management and a wide range of team building courses. I frequently attend courses to ensure my skill set is up-to-date. I find my job very rewarding and get a very satisfying feeling at the end of each day, knowing that the children who attend Little Nightingales are in great care and we all work hard to ensure each child receives the warmth and attention needed to become a loving and confident individual.

I really enjoy my job and I think the reason why is because no two days are the same in our nursery.

Charlotte Macdonald

My name is Charlotte Macdonald.

I have been working within different childcare settings for the last 7 years. I have been with Little Nightingales for just over a year. I have a level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education and find my job very rewarding. There is no nicer feeling then helping and watching a child achieve new skills for the first time and achieving goals they have been working towards. 

Sharmila Tamang

My name is Sharmila. I have worked with children for years and I've been at Little Nightingales for nearly 2 years now. I have completed my first diploma in social care and my NVQ level 3 in Child Care and Education. I love caring for children and find my job very self fulfilling. I feel very privileged being part of the babies' first educational experience. Little Nightingales has a very fun and relaxed atmosphere and I look forward to coming to work every morning. Besides not many people can say I've been dancing, singing and getting messy in spaghetti at work today.

Naomi McNamee

My name is Naomi. I am 19 years old and have been working with children since I left school. I have always enjoyed working with children and like watching them progress and learn. I have a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education, first aid, food hygiene and safe guarding children certificate. I am also the safeguarding adult within our setting. I have been working at Little Nightingales for a year and I love coming to work every day. My main hobby at the moment is learning to drive.

Samantha Fletcher

My name is Sam Fletcher and I am 21 years old. I have CACHE Level 2 and I am currently studying for my NVQ level 3 in Childcare and Education. I have been working with children of all ages for over for years now. I have also gained experience with children with Special needs and disabilities, as my younger brother has Down's Syndrome. I am up to date with British sign Language and enjoying teaching it to others. I enjoy my time at Little Nightingales as the children are always on the go, trying out new and exciting activities each and every day. I do enjoy showing parents what their little one has achieved while being with us.

During my spare time I like socialising with friends and shopping.
