ABOUT US - Curriculum

For the younger children we use the Birth to Three Matters framework.

This focuses on the development on each individual child.

It identifies four aspects, which celebrate the skill and competence of babies and young children.

It highlights the interrelationship between growth, learning development and the environment, in which they are cared for and educated (SureStart, 2003).

The four Aspects are:

• A Strong Child
• A Skilful Communicator
• A Competent Learner
• A Healthy Child

At around three years of age, depending on the individual child, we begin to work towards the Early Learning Goals as set out in the Curriculum Guidance for the Foundation Stage (QCA/DfES, May 2000).
